Cherished Companions Home Care ranks #1 in Ohio and #3 nationwide among at-home care providers.
CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio, Oct. 16, 2018
Cherished Companions Home Care has been named to Fortune Magazine’s 2018 Best Workplaces for Aging Services. The Cherished Companions agency was ranked in the “At-Home Care” segment, where it placed first in Ohio and third nationwide. It was the only Ohio agency named in this category.
“Seventy percent of our new employees come from referrals from existing employees. Our employees see their work as a calling and deserve the best we can offer them,” according to Cherished Companions’ founder and CEO Douglas Wilber. “We are proud to be one of the few organizations in our space that offer a comprehensive benefits package, and we are committed to investing in training, tools and technology.”
The ranking considered employee surveys that represented more than 162,000 employees working for companies in the aging-services industry. Great Place To Work®, a global people analytics and consulting firm, evaluated more than 50 elements of team members’ experience on the job. These included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team. Rankings, based on employees’ feedback, reward companies who best include all employees.
CEO of Great Place to Work Michael Bush notes the aging-services industry is rapidly growing and, led by aging baby boomers, consumer preferences are changing even more dramatically. “Companies need to adapt their organizations to remain competitive,” he says. “Organizations like Cherished Companions Home Care stand out from the crowd, intentionally growing their businesses by creating great places to work.”
